Cauterisation is the destruction of tissues by heat, electricity, laser, freze, or chemicals. Electro cauterisation involves the cauterisation commonly used to remove unwanted tissue (e.g. skin tumour, usually with a surrounding margin of clinically unaffected tissue) or to achieve haemostasis.
